2014 - I
Bog Oak is certified reclaimed Oak wood from a swamp in Russia, estimated to be 3600 years old. It comes in a stabilized form.
3 piece set - top down:
1.25" x 5" kitchen knife with-Yew Wood - western style handle, carbon steel, bog oak and white 2 spacer array
1.5" x 8" kitchen knife with-Yew Wood - western style handle, carbon steel, bog oak and white 2 spacer array
1.5" x 6.5" Hankotsu-Yew Wood - Asian style handle, carbon steel, bog oak and white 2 spacer array 6 of 12 Steak Knives- 3 woods each:
Blade is 4" long.
Top 3 are Maple wood, bottom are Yew wood.
See next slide for last 6 of the 12. Top 3 woods are Claro Walnut wood and then English Walnut wood. Madrone wood, double brass, 8.5" x 2.25" kitchen knife, high carbon tool steel, 1/16th" thick, brass bolsters. 2" wide x 8" long kitchen knife with Orange Yew wood handle and brass bolsters. 6" x 2.5" kitchen knife with 3 spacer array - stabilzied Madrone wood with a center of red vulcanized .090" thick spacer in the middle. Knife and Fork Carving Set - Fork is 440-C stainless and the 9" carving knife is 2" wide and 9" long. Handle wood is Claro Walnut wood, with a three spacer array. 2014 - H
Double brass bolsters on a 2.5" x 6" carbon steel kitchen knife with locally harvested Claro walnut wood handle. Handle is finished with a coat of Bullseye grain sealing waxless shellac which is then hand sanded and then steel wooled for 3 grades - 00, 000, and 00000. Flamed striped Maple wood and black white spacer handle on a 2" x 8" blade of carbon steel. 2.5" x 8" and 1" x 4" kitchen knife set with green dyed stabilized Box Elder Burl wood. Handles were given a high speed wax polish. Part of a 13 piece set.
Top 3" paring knife with Madrone wood and 3 spacer array consisting of green stabilized Box Elder Burl wood with brass center.
Then is a Carving Knife and Fork set.
Knife is 9" x 2" and Fork is stainless. Spacers are same stabilzied wood as the Paring knife above, but the center is red .090 thick vulcanized spacer.Locally harvested very rare natural Orange colored Yew wood. La Mezzluna with Yew Wood handles and spacer array. Spacer is stabilzied Amboyna wood sandwich with .090 thick vulcanized spacer. Handles are attached with 7/64" button head stainless bolts - 3 per side. Blade is 7.5" wide and 2.5" tall. Top kitchen knife is a 2" x 8" with Claro wood.

Two 1" x 4" kitchen knives - one traditional shaped blade on the bottom and in the middle is a strong back blade.
Middle wood is Madrone and bottom wood is English walnut wood. All woods are harvested from trees of the glorious Northwest Cascade range. No motors included.

2" x 6" high carbon steel kitchen knife with Yew Wood handle ~ adorned with 3 spacer array consisting of a sandwich with stabilized Black Palm wood and white in the middle. 7" carbon steel Sujihiki kitchen knife - 2" wide. Yew wood Maple with 3 piece spacer array with white middle. Set of cleavers commissioned by a California businessman and made as a presentation gifts to 2 master Shanghai chefs.
8" x 3" 3/32" thick 1095 high carbon tool steel. Handle woods on top is stabilized Mango and bottom is stabilized Koa. Bottom has black/white spacers. Wood on all is rare rare Manzanita.
Top is 1" x 4"
middle 6" Sujihinki, 1.5" wide (not Yasai Bocho)
Bottom is 12" scimitar shaped Boning Knife, made from 3/32" thick 1095 tool steel. Matching set - 7" x 2" Sujihiki and 1" x 4" carbon steel kitchen knives.
Both sport Yew wood handles and 2 part spacer array consisting of Manzanita and white spacer. 4 pieces commissioned and designed by the same client.
Dark handle is a 7" x 1.5" Sujihiki. Handle has 3 part spacer array (R/W/R) and the wood is quite rare stabilized Bog Oak which was reclaimed in Russia. It is around 3600 years old.
The other 3 pieces are a set with Maple handle - from top 8" x 2.5", 1" x 5" and Pating knife at the bottom. I plonked in a Bog Oak spacer in top piece. Alaska State Museum commission of a pair of Ulu's with Honduran mahogony handles.

1" x 4" kitchen knife & 7" Santoku
Both pieces are constructed with Extra Fancy Handle design (costs $55.00 above the cost of the knife on my Price List) .
This set has stainless steel bolsters with nickel/silver hidden rivet/pins. Below the bolsters are a pair of black/white spacers, then a piece of stabilized green dyed Box Elder Burl wood, and then a piece of brass.
Black Walnut Wood fills out the rest of the handle. This wood was slab-harvested in Arizona in 1980 from a very old stump. Spacers were high speed finished with wax, and the wood was given a coat of Bulles Eye Shellac, which was lightly sanded with 000 steel wool, and then a couple coats of wax/oil finish was applied and allowed to soak in. 2" x 8" kitchen knife with Yew Wood handle - carbon steel. 9" x 2.5" high carbon steel kitchen knife with Fancy handle - black/white spacer array with stabilized Koa wood handle that had been polished with a high speed wax buff. High chatoyance. 7" x 2.5" kitchen knife with green dyed stabilized Box Elder Burl wood. 1084 Carbon steel. Maple wood handle on a 2" x 8" kitchen knife. 5" x 2.5" kitchen knife with Hickory wood. 8" x 2.5" Santoku kitchen knife with Yew wood handle and brass bolster.

Black Walnut handles, 1" x 5" kitchen knife. 1.5" x 5.25" kitchen knife with Black Walnut wood, carbon steel. 2" x 6" kitchen knives. Top has Hickory wood handle with double brass bolsters.
Bottom has Black Walnut wood handle. 2" x 8" with Black Walnut wood, that was harvested from an ancient stump in Arizona 35 years ago. Bent handled kitchen knife, with 8" blade, 2" wide. Wood is Black Walnut wood. Paring knife with 3/4" x 3" blade, with Claro Walnut wood handle.
10" long x 2.5" wide x 1/16th" thick kitchen knife with scales made from Claro Walnut wood. Carbon steel, brass bolster.
